The number of options can often be overwhelming, leaving you staring at six different paint swatches that you swear are the same and your partner swears are unique. At Color Store, we understand how difficult color selection can be. That is why we offer paint consultation services. Our color consultants use color psychology, color theory, and interior design knowledge to help you choose the perfect paint for every room in your home.

What Happens at a Color Consultation?

Our expert color consultants will get to know you and your home during one of our paint consultations. They are not interior designers, so they aren't looking to change your furniture, countertops, or floors. They are looking at the existing elements in your home to help you find the perfect paint color. By studying your existing decor, the natural and artificial light in your home, and discussing what colors move you, our consultants will help you piece together a paint scheme for every room in your house.

Color Psychology

Our color consultations pay specific attention to color psychology. Color psychology is the study of hues and their effect on human behavior. It has been proven that different colors can affect a person's mood, state of mind, and overall disposition. Here are some of the temperaments of common colors.

Red

Smoldering Red 2007-10
Red is never dull. When deep and dark, this color is associated with vigor, courage, rage, and wrath. Lighter reds are associated with feelings of passion, joy, and love. The more brownish reds often invoke the sense of fall and the harvest. Red has also been known to increase your appetite, making the shade an excellent choice for kitchens. It raises the energy of a room and stimulates conversation. Red also makes a solid first impression, making it great as an accent color.
